Tanner Johnson

SPC Tanner Lane Johnson, 22, died unexpectedly December 14, 2015 at his residence in Ft. Carson.  He was currently serving his country in the U.S. Army.

He was born on August 2, 1993, in Salina, the son of Jeffery Ty and Linda Joy (Morris) Johnson. 

On May 13, 2014, he married Amanda Fisher in Anchorage, Alaska, and she survives.

Other survivors include his father, Ty Johnson of Hillsboro; two sisters, Lakyn and Lynne Johnson, both of Hillsboro; and grandparents, Naomi Morris of Canton and Lee and Genie Swenson of Lindsborg. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Linda, and grandfathers Dick Morris and Jeff Johnson.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 23, 2015, at the Canton Christian Church.  Interment with full military honors will be in the Canton Township Cemetery.

Visitation was 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2015, at Olson’s Mortuary in Canton.

Memorials have been established with The Wounded Warrior Project, or the 509 Inf. Div., in care of the mortuary.
