Parents’ home will be wedding site

Rebecca Dalene Tharp of Marion and Scott J. Shearer of Council Grove are engaged to be married in May at the home of the bride’s parents, Blair and Nancy Tharp of Marion.

The bride-to-be is a 2004 graduate of Marion High School and a 2005 graduate of Flint Hills Technical College in culinary arts and restaurant management. She is a cook at Marion Elementary School.

The prospective groom is a 1999 graduate of Council Grove High School and attended Flint Hills Technical College for automotive mechanics. He is a self-employed rancher. Rose Shearer of Council Grove and the late Jack Shearer are his parents.
