Thelma O’Dell

Thelma M. O’Dell, 99, of Florence, died Aug. 24 at St. Luke Living Center, Marion.

Born Jan. 19, 1911, to Elmer and Rowena (Rutledge) Barlow, she graduated in 1929 from Sublette.

On Dec. 24, 1932, she married Orvis M. O’Dell in Garden City. The couple spent the majority of their married lives on a farm. He preceded her in death in 1999.

Her parents, five brothers, and two sisters also preceded her.

Survivors include two sons, Delano of Florence and Delvin of Peabody; a daughter, Dee Nuessen of El Dorado; a brother, Don Barlow; three sisters, Leona McDaniel, Edith McDaniel, and Donna Jean Miller; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were Friday at Hillcrest Cemetery, Florence.

A memorial has been established with St. Luke Living Center in care of Zeiner Funeral Home.
