Timmy Herman
Marion native and Centre High School graduate Timmy L. Herman, 64, Herington, died June 24 at Salina Regional Medical Center.
Services were Monday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home and Crematory, Herington. The Rev. Mark Wesely officiated.
Born Feb. 7, 1945, to Cleo and Clara (Bevan) Herman, he raced cars and bowled until beginning a long battle with multiple sclerosis in 1981.
He was the largest fundraiser for Herington Community Bus, a volunteer for Relay for Life, and a member of St. John’s Catholic Church, Herington.
Survivors include daughters Jennifer Howe of Kansas City, Jill Sink of Dayton, Ohio, and Jodi and Toni Herman of Herington; brother Cleo Jr. of Herington; sisters Joyce Mascareno of Herington and Gloria Hall of Aurora, Colo.; and four grandchildren.
A memorial fund has been established with Catholic Services at the church, care of the funeral home, 404 S Broadway, Herington KS 67449-3038.
