To the editor:
My favorite memory of Jane Vajnar is of her presence at Centre High School basketball games.
She was almost always there, sitting on the front row near the middle of the stands. If it was around a holiday, she always wore something to signify the season, such as a Santa hat at Christmas time.
She cheered with the cheerleaders, pounding her walking cane on the floor for added effect. When the players were out on the court, she shouted encouraging words, calling out to each of them by name and praising them with a “Good job!” after each play they made.
I’m sure players and fans, alike, will notice Jane’s absence this sports season.
