Former city police officer and county road and bridge worker Thomas S. McLinden, 61, died Feb. 24 at his residence. 

He was born May 25, 1953, in Marion to Cecil and Stephania (Maloun) McLinden. 

On Aug. 19, 1972, he married Audrey A. Hajek. 

He is survived by his wife, Audrey; daughters, Ann McLinden of Marion, Amanda Gardner of Pilsen, and Tomi Weaks of Marlow, Oklahoma; a sister, Connie Brooks of Marion; and two grandchildren. 

The Rosary with visitation was Thursday at Zeiner Funeral Home.

Funeral Mass was Friday at Holy Family Parish, St. Mark Catholic Church, in Marion. 

Interment will be in Marion Cemetery. 

A memorial fund has been established with American Legion Post No. 22 of Marion.
