Members from more than 20 TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) chapters in central Kansas met Oct. 15 in Hutchinson for the annual TOPS Fun Day.

TOPS KS 1075, Marion, won several first-place awards based on weight-loss results from Jan. 1 to Aug. 31.

The chapter brought back the traveling trophy for having the best average loss per member, 9.98 pounds. They also won first place for the total pounds lost, 99.75.

The chapter received a certificate for having the most no-gain meetings, of which there were two.

The club won second place for its “Tater Mania”-themed centerpiece.

Chapter leader Lucille Bitner was recognized as a KOPS (Keep Off Pounds Sensibly). She has been a KOPS for 13 years. She, Estelle McCarty, and Jeanne Maki were recognized as charter members of TOPS 1075.

Bill and Kathy Goentzel and Kathy’s sister Arlene Bowers received an award for having the best family weight loss.

Other members attending were Sue Clough, Judy Reno, and Rhonda Brenzikofer.

The chapter currently has 15 members and meets at 9:30 a.m. every Thursday at Hilltop Manor, 1501 Lawrence St., Marion.
