CENTRE:   Troutt leads Cougars to victory

The Centre High School boys basketball team traveled to White City Dec. 15 for its first regular league game of the season, defeating the Huskies, 48-41.

In a second game on the road Friday, the Cougars defeated Wakefield, 66-56.

Trevor Troutt, Centre’s husky 6-4 senior, scored big points in both games.

Troutt’s outstanding performance at White City allowed Centre to defeat the Huskies. He scored 27 points, most coming in the second half, including seven free throws and seven field goals. He also had 12 rebounds.

The first quarter ended in a tie, 12-12. Centre trailed by three points, 21-18, at halftime, but outscored White City 12-8 and 18-12 in the final two quarters to win the game.

Tanner Brunner had 10 rebounds and four steals.

Total points: Trevor Troutt 27, Tanner Brunner 7, Brian Burhoop 6, Tyler Klenda 6, Alex Hajek 2.
