Troy Moore

Marlon “Troy” Moore, 57, died Monday, Jan. 16, 2017, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.

Troy was born in Olathe, Kansas, on Aug. 4, 1959, to Charles “Chuck” Honeyman and Shirley Moore.

Troy attended and graduated from Peabody-Burns school system in 1977. He was a talented athlete playing multiple sports, and later was a player and coach in softball. He enjoyed NCAA sports and especially followed Kansas State University football and Lady Cats basketball. He was a huge baseball fan, and the last two years of Royals baseball were wonderful for Troy.

Troy had many talents and gifts besides his athletic ability. He loved math and numbers. which aided him in his career as a land surveyor. He was a great pool player, knew many card tricks, great cook, a good joke teller with a great sense of humor, a golfer, a fisherman, and a lover of his dogs,

He will be remembered as a hardworking man who greatly loved and cared for his children, grandchildren, and his companion of 21 years, Julie Brosemer.

He is survived by his companion Julie Brosemer; children, Ali Moore and Alex “A.J.” Moore and his wife, Cisca; siblings, Mike and wife, Gail, Mark and wife, Sharon, Jeffrey and wife, Carrie, Jerome and wife, Bridget, and Kelly Stephenson; four grandchildren; father, Chuck Honeyman and wife, Betty; and his beloved dog, Jordy.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley (Neukirch) Moore, and adopted father, Garrold Anthony Moore.

The family has requested that a memorial be set up for the “Troy Moore Family Fund,” in care of Petersen Funeral Home, 215 N. Main St., Newton KS 67114.
