USD 408 signs new superintendent

Aaron Homburg, superintendent and principal for USD 399 Paradise-Natoma-Waldo, will take over as Marion-Florence superintendent on July 1, after the school board approved the hire today.

Homburg is both elementary and junior/senior high school principal, and has been with USD 399 for 13 years. Natoma High School plays sports in Class 1A.

Homburg taught seventh to 12th grade social studies at USD 275 Triplains for nine years and was administrative assistant for one year.

His brother, Andrew Homburg, was a music teacher for Marion-Florence from 1998-2000.

Homburg said USD 408’s reputation was a factor in seeking the job.

“I’ve known several people who’ve worked there, and they’ve made it sound very appealing,” Homburg said.

More information will be published in the Feb. 8 edition of the Marion County Record.
