Velma Klassen, 87, died Friday at Hillsboro Community Hospital.

Services will be held at a later date.

She was born June 16, 1928 to Heinrich B. and Maria (Voth) Unruh in Newton.

She was a clerk in the meat department at Vogt’s Hometown Market.

She married Pete Klassen Aug. 12, 1951 in Halstead.

Survivors include husband Pete of Hillsboro; sons, Gerald Klassen of Hillsboro and Allen Klassen of Topeka; daughter, Linda Maudlin of Hutchinson; brother, Otis Unruh of Newton; sisters, Rossetta Auernheimer of Moundridge and Annetta Howard of Hutchinson; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Memorials may be sent to Hillsboro American Legion Auxiliary Girls State Fund.
