Verla Mae Cott

Verla Mae Bernhardt Cott, 90, died Sept. 7, 2016.

She was born April 19, 1926, to German immigrants Henry F. and Mary Elizabeth Hill Bernhardt on the family farm by Tampa, Kansas. Verla was the youngest of eight children.

Survivors include her loving husband of 63 years, James Cott; sons, Alan Cott and wife Alice of Houston, Texas, and Bennett Cott and wife Judy of Goddard, Kansas; daughters, Jani Cott and Teresa Drane and husband Tom, both of Salina; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was Monday, Sept. 12, 2016, at Roselawn Heights Memorial Chapel, Salina.

Funeral services were Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2016, at First United Methodist Church, Salina, with the Rev. Eric Rook officiating. Burial was in the Lincolnville, Kansas cemetery.
