Verna Bezdek

Verna P. Bezdek, 95, retired caterer and business owner, died March 31, 2010, in Wichita.

Services were April 5 at the Church of the Magdalen in Wichita.

Burial was in Pilsen Cemetery.

She was born Sept. 13, 1914, near Lost Springs, to William and Emma (Vinduska) Bezdek.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Sylvester, Marcel, Paul, and Virgil; sisters Wilma Bezdek and Marcella Miller; and one nephew, Darrell Bezdek.

Survivors include sister-in-law Sylvia Bezdek of Lost Springs; nieces Paulette Holub of Lost Springs, Marcia Falen of Hope, Arlene, Emma and Virginia Bezdek of Colorado; and nephews Craig and Blaine Miller of Wichita and Kenny, Edward, and Merrill Bezdek of Colorado.

She was a classmate of Father Emil Kapaun at the Pilsen school.
