Vivian Marcella (Funk) Ring, 95, passed away Jan. 1, 2015.

She was born on Jan. 23, 1919, in Hillsboro, Kansas, the daughter of Henry and Helen Funk.

Vivian retired from the Baptist New Mexican News Journal in 1981. She was a member of the Southern Baptist Convention and Immanuel Baptist Church. Vivian was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Lloyd Francis and Cornelius Funk; grandson, Carl Ring; great-grandson, Nicholas Neal.

Survivors include: sons, Delbert (Barbara), Kenneth, Charles (Betty), and Richard (Diane); 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be today from 2 to 8 p.m. at Smith Mortuary, 7031 S. Broadway, Haysville. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015, also at the mortuary. Memorials to the American Heart Association.
