The Centre High School 1988 state championship volleyball team will be recognized Friday during halftime of the homecoming game against Peabody-Burns.
The team will be celebrating the 25th anniversary of its crowning achievement. A dance routine by the Centre cheerleaders will precede recognition of the members of the team.
Crowning of the homecoming king and queen will be at 6:15 p.m. Queen candidates are Cacey Simons, daughter of Clay and Sharon Simons of Lincolnville; Bryanna Svoboda, daughter of A.J. and Sandra Svoboda of Ramona; and Makenzie Deines, daughter of Terry and Julie Deines of Ramona. King candidates are Grant Srajer, son of Jim and Kris Srajer of Ramona; Kyle Methvin, son of Brent and Briana Methvin of Lincolnville; and Ty Simons, son of Clay and Sharon Simons of Lincolnville.
Little helpers are Addison Bina, daughter of Jeff and Terri Bina; Trinity Espinoza, daughter of Jose and Jennifer Espinoza; Spencer Hancock, son of Dennis and Tiffany Hancock; Owen Wingerd, son of Luke and Kim Wingerd; Brent Mercer, son of Sheila Brown and Chester Mercer; and Jonah Svitak, son of Shane and Jennifer Svitak.
The homecoming theme is “Crash My Party,” by Luke Bryan, and colors are navy blue and gold. A dance in the commons will follow the football game.
