Walter Street

Walter E. “Gene” Street, 82, Marion, died Nov. 24, 2008 at Newman Regional Health Center, Emporia.

Born Aug. 8, 1926 in rural Howard, he was the son of Walter and Martha (Frohm) Street.

He was a data process manager.

He married Nona M. McCormick June 10, 1945 at Howard United Methodist Church, Howard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Jim and Vernon, and one sister, Vera Smith.

Survivors include his wife of the home; one son, Rick Street of Pretty Prairie; one daughter, Autumn and Doug Hanson of Marion; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Nov. 29 at Zimmerman Funeral Home, Howard.

Burial was at Grace lawn Cemetery.

Memorial funds have been established at the Midian Hospital Van Unit or Alzheimer’s Association and may be made in care of the funeral home, 206 E. Washington, Howard KS 67349.
