Warren Meador

Warren A. Meador, 92, of Anthony, died March 7 at Medicine Lodge Memorial Hospital, Medicine Lodge.

Born Oct. 17, 1918, in Forgan, Okla., to Walter and Florence (Imel) Meador, he owned a grocery store in Anthony until 1973.

He retired as a meat inspector for the State of Kansas. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

On Dec. 25, 1938, he married Marcy Vancyoc at Anthony.

His parents; a daughter, Ann Mortimer; three brothers, Virgil, Ted, and Byron; and three sisters, Audra Miller, Vira Winstead, and Vera Tuck preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Marcy of Anthony; a daughter, Jeannie Thrasher of Wilson; two sons, Pete of Medicine Lodge and Stu of Marion; 16 grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place.

A memorial service will be 2 to 4 p.m. March 20 at Higher Grounds and Leather Bounds, 103 S. Bluff St., Anthony.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Main Street Ministry of Anthony, Anthony United Methodist Church, or the donor’s choice in care of Larrison Funeral Home, 120 E Lincoln St, Medicine Lodge KS 67104.
