Warrior trio honored again

After earning awards from the Topeka Capital-Journal and Mid-Central Activities Association for their respective basketball seasons, Marion High School players Lindsay Hett, Julia Zeiner, and Kayley Heerey are now being honored by the Hutchinson News.

Hett, who averaged 13.2 points and 4.2 rebounds per game, was named to the 3A first team.

The point guard was the floor leader for the Lady Warriors, and led the team in steals (3.0) and block (0.9) per game.

Hett is the daughter of Aaron and Lanell Hett of Marion.

Zeiner and her team-high 16.9 points per game is a member of the second team.

She also averaged 5.2 rebounds per game, and had team-highs of field goals made (144), field goals attempted (279), free throws made (64), and free throw attempted (99).

Zeiner is the daughter of Ty Zeiner of Marion and Janet Zeiner of Marion.

Heerey earned a spot on the honorable mention squad.

The junior was third on the team in scoring at 12.2 points per game, and was the team leader in assists with 3.2 per contest.

Her 37 made three-pointers and 115 attempts were the most on the squad.

She also contributed 4.7 rebounds and 2.5 steals.

Heerey is the daughter of Doug and Lori Heerey of Marion.
