The Marion boys basketball team lost 52-36 Tuesday at Marion.
The Warriors were unable to solve Hesston’s 1-3-1 defense that held Marion to 32 percent shooting from the field.
Marion tied the game at 29 in the third quarter when the Warriors switched up defensive looks: they would show the Swathers a 2-3 zone on one possession and then switch back to man-to-man. Isaac Hett and Wil Case also hit several shots to put the Warriors in range of victory.
But, Hesston started to shoot over the zone and drive on Marion’s man-to-man.
Case scored nine points and Hett scored 11 in the loss. Eric Vogel scored seven points and gathered 11 rebounds.
