Warriors run for 4th at Abilene

Marion girls’ cross-country team placed fourth Thursday at an a meet contested on a golf course in Abilene.

“They all fought through the pain, and finished well,” Coach Dmitry Bucklin said. “I know some of them were disappointed with their times and place but it is only the first meet, and we have many more before the season is over.”

Individually Emily Hague placed 11th in a 4K run at 24 minutes, 23 seconds.

Meggan Frese was 23rd at 26:11, Bethany Grimmett was 33rd at 28:15.

For the boys, Colin Williams medaled in 12th place in a 5K run at 19:21. Devin Regnier was 34th at 21:14, Ethan Darnall was 45th at 22:03.
