The more than 60 people attending were from Kansas, Colorado, Oklahoma, and Nebraska and included drillers, suppliers, and installers of well water and geothermal heating systems.
Executive director Dale Hayse of Greensburg said water well drillers are required to have continuing education. The association provides three seminars per year.
Pam Chaffee of Kansas Department of Health and Environment provided updates on licensing and well construction.
Water well driller Paul Backhus of Tampa gave a well drilling demonstration for the group at his farm east of Tampa.
The association’s board of directors prepared and served a hamburger, hot dog, and chicken filet lunch at the farm.
