Wendell Morgan
Wendell H. Morgan, 77, husband of former Marion resident Monica Konecny, died June 25 in Hutchinson. He was born April 26, 1936, in Rolla to Ralph and Alma Faye Milburn Morgan.
He received an education specialist degree in 1974 from Emporia State University. His career culminated as a chemistry professor at Hutchinson Community College for 34 years. He also taught at Hugoton and Hutchinson high schools.
He married Konecny on Sept. 16, 1983, in Nickerson.
He is survived by his wife, of Wenatchee, Wash.; a son, Kevin of Lawrence; four daughters, Louise Ruszkowski and Melissa Morgan-Saul of Fort Worth, Texas, Elizabeth Moffitt of Seattle, and Sara Morgan of Manhattan; two brothers, Harold Morgan of Hugoton and Arlin Morgan of Topeka; three sisters, Doris McBride of Denver, Marie Ireton of Uvalde, Texas, and Lona Leist of Edgewater, Fla.; and four grandchildren.
Funeral was Tuesday at First Church of the Nazarene in Hutchinson. Pastors Doug Wyatt and Bones Nay presided. Burial followed in Pilsen Cemetery. A memorial has been established with Hutchinson Community College Science Department scholarship fund.
