William E. (Bill) Laramore

William E. (Bill) Laramore, 85, of Peabody died June 20 at Newton Medical Center. He was born Sept. 19, 1929, to William and Nellie (Walters) Laramore in Council Grove.

He was married to Donna Laramore, who preceded him in death July 11, 2008.

After serving in the U.S. Army as a vehicle mechanic with the 6th Army Division from 1952 to 1954, he worked for 44 years as a tool and die maker for Coleman in Wichita.

Bill loved serving his community and helping others. As a member of Peabody Senior Center, he helped in many ways, including delivering Meals on Wheels to those in need.

At Indian Guide he was looked upon by many as the guy they could count on to help fix anything that was broken, run errands for a neighbor, or just lend a helping hand.

An elder at Peabody First Christian Church, Bill was very proud to call the church members his family.

He is survived by a son, Brad Laramore, and wife, Kelly, of Kansas City, Missouri; a daughter, Beth Sprague and husband, Greg, of Peabody; a stepdaughter, Joan Cassidy, of St. Louis, Missouri; a sister, Shirley Schumate, of Erie; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Bill was preceded in death by a son, William Bruce Laramore; a daughter, Brenda Louise Cunningham; and a grandson, Aaron Bradley Laramore.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Peabody Christian Church followed by interment at Prairie Lawn Cemetery.

Memorials may be sent to the Peabody Christian Church or Peabody Senior Center.
