Willis and Eleanor (Weinbrenner) Herbel will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house from 2 to 5 p.m. Dec. 30 at Hillsboro Senior Center. The couple is not requesting gifts saying, “Your presence is our gift.”

They were married Dec. 26, 1962, at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church in rural Goessel.

The event will be hosted by their children and grandchildren: DeLayne and Christine Herbel, Landon, Erich, and Carson, of rural Lehigh; Kevin and Paula Herbel, Aaron, Danea, Joshua, Caleb, Jacob, Karina, Jeremiah, Calabria, and Isaiah, of Durham; Todd and Kristi Krispense, Kolton, Konrad, Klayton, Kordell, Kaityln, and Karalyn, of rural Marion; and Jon and Ashlee Herbel, Elena, Taelin, and Nathan, of Salina.
