Wilma L. Gutsch

Wilma Gutsch, 85, of Burdick died Sunday at Morris County Hospital, Council Grove.

She was born June 14, 1926, to William L. and Laura (Burns) Huyler.

Gutsch was a homemaker. She taught private music lessons on the organ and piano. She worked at the Herington air base and then the Garden City air base prior to going to Kansas City to work for the Internal Revenue Service. She lived in Gladstone, Mo., for 30 years before she and her husband returned to Burdick. She graduated from Diamond Valley High School in Burdick with the class of 1945.

She married Darrell E. Gutsch Feb. 21, 1958; he survives at home. She is also survived by her two daughters, Laura Carey of Westwood Hills and Susan Leeper of Blue Springs, Mo., and three grandsons.

She was preceded in death by an infant brother, William Huyler and her parents.

The funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at Parkerville Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Strom offictiating. Burial will follow at Delavan Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 2 to 7 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, Herington Chapel.

Memorials to the National Parkinson’s Foundation or Parkerville Baptist Church may be sent in care of Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 404 S. Broadway, Herington.
