Your guide to a bang-up Fourth

Marion County residents will have several places to choose from when looking for a good time on Fourth of July.

Peabody

Festivities in Peabody will begin Thursday with a carnival, which continues through Saturday, and an alumni dance from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the Peabody American Legion. Dance guests must be 21 or older.

On the Fourth, events will start with a 5-kilometer run at 8 a.m., and flee market will also begin at 8 a.m. a dog show at 11 a.m., and kids events in the afternoon at the pool and park.

A parade at 5 p.m. will be followed by music in the park. The night ends with a fireworks show at dusk, and carnival.

Ramona

Redneck in Ramona will feature many events designed to bring out the redneck in everyone. The festivities Friday will begin with 10K and 2K runs at 7:30 and 8 a.m. Breakfast will be served after at the city building.

During the day events will include a lawn art contest and car show culminating in a parade at 6 p.m. followed by a tractor pull. A fireworks show will begin around 9:45 p.m.
