A poster and video contest is open for entries as part of Put the Brakes on Fatalities Day.

Kids ages 5 to 13 are eligible. The poster must be 8½ by 11 inches and must include the child’s name, age, mailing address, county, a parent’s name and phone number. Entries must be postmarked by Sept. 18 and mailed to AAA Kansas, Public Affairs, 3545 SW 6th St. Topeka KS 66606.

Three winners will receive family packages to the Great Wolf Lodge in Kansas City and $50 Visa cards. A video contest for grades 8 through 12 is new this year. Teens may submit a 6- to 60-second video to educate drivers on safe road behaviors. Prizes include a smart watch, tablet, and action camera.
