Staff writer

Sharon Zogelman was surprised to receive the Marilyn Gate Award for outstanding service at last week’s Kansas Hospital Human Resources Association convention.

She was chosen for her many years of service to the organization.

Zogelman has served as treasurer for 15 years and is a member of the board.

“It’s a neat, supportive group to belong to,” she said.

She started wotj St. Luke Hospital in May 1997 as an office employee and has been human resources director since 2001.

Chief Nursing Officer Gail Boaldin praised Zogelman for her commitment to her job.

“Sharon has a heart for people, but especially the employees she works with,” Boaldin said. “She always has a smile on her face and a kind word for others. She shines as a person but especially in her career. She is helpful, encouraging and skillful in her position. We are blessed to have Sharon as a part of the administrative team at St.Luke Hospital.”

“It’s very rewarding to help employees,” Zogelman said. “I work with a great team.”
