Marion County Department for the Elderly on May 6 received its new van. The 1998 Dodge Caravan SE was delivered by National Mobility Corporation of Elkhart, Ind. Total cost was $33,327 of which the county paid $6,665. State and federal money earmarked for transportation needs paid the rest.

Regular customers of Tiemeier's Store at Lincolnville are disheartened to learn that the historic general merchandise and grocery store has been put up for sale by its owner, Lou and Jeanine Geiler of Omaha, Neb. Jeanine is a fourth generation member of the Tiemeier family.

The 50th anniversary of the founding of Twentieth Century Club was observed Saturday when present members, charter members, and former presidents gathered in the fellowship hall of the Presbyterian church for a "birthday bash." The club was organized in February 1948 by Junior Athena Club (now Coterie).

Chris Vinduska of Marion is graduating this spring with a juris doctorate from Washburn University School of Law, Topeka. He is the son of Rose Vinduska and Kenneth Vinduska, both of Marion.

At the Marion Women's Bowling Association's spring banquet Thursday, Vernolis Siebert and Edith Loveless were inducted into its newly formed "Hall of Fame." Both women are charter members of the association which was organized in 1961.

Miniature horses owned by Larry and Deana Olsen, Marion, earned many honors May 2 and 3 at the Wichita Classic Miniature Horse Show. The Olsens raise, train, and sell miniature horses at their farm west of Marion on 190th Street
