Just being remembered at this happy Christmas time affords great pleasure to both parties. On Monday evening of last week the entire force of W.W. Loveless & Sons went to the home of Father Neiderhauser to do him honor and help him celebrate his 81st birthday. Mr. Neiderhauser has repaired shoes in the shoe department of this store for many years and has the good will of all who know him. The clerks took with them everything that can gladden the heart and the evening with this good old couple was happily spent.

Alice and Ethel Wheeler very pleasantly entertained a number of their school friends at their home last Friday night. They were entertained by music and various games. Ice cream and cake were served and all had a jolly time. Those present were: Eulalia Kuhn, Beth Frazer, Irma Wolf, Edith Hodge, Nettie Williams, Bessie Williams, Lucile Burkholder, Pearl Selvy, Emogene Warrensburg, Wm. Frazer, Ed Burkholder, Willie Scott, Homer Scott, Paul Williams, Hugh Grimes, Willard Shanklin, Karl Love, Vernon Kuhn.

Wednesday evening the band boys went in a body to the home of Ross Sheets, and serenaded him and his wife with some of their excellent music. Ross invited them in and they then presented him with a handsome rocking chair as a token of appreciation of his faithful and splendid work as their leader for so long. Ross was completely surprised but recovered sufficiently to thank the boys in his jolly way, and assured them that he would enjoy much comfort in his new chair.

The final cleaning up at the court house was finished the last few days and the floors, wainscoting and stairways are in fine shape. It took a good deal of work to kill the alkali that was showing up in the wainscoting but it was finally accomplished. The heating plant is keeping the building very comfortable and without burning a great amount of coal. But then just see who is taking care of things over there.

C.A. King and Austin H. Bitner are preparing a fine oak stair at Bitner's carpenter shop which they will place in John B. Greer's residence.

Wallace Magathan fell at the rink Saturday evening and fractured the left arm at the elbow joint, making a bad fracture to reduce. However, the arm has been doing nicely since it was set.

Mr. Watson is putting in a new concrete floor at the jail. This, with the other needed improvements will render the county "don jon" a good safe place to hold those who are bad and unsafe to be at large.
