There was a small cyclone west of town about 9 o'clock Saturday night. The track of the storm ran from southwest to northeast. The first damage done by the storm was at the W.B. Miesse farm, where it moved the house about 8 feet on the foundation and tore the barn and granary to pieces. The hen house stood between the barn and granary and was not touched. No stock was injured and the storm lasted only about a minute at the place. The amount of damage done there was about $300 worth. As the storm moved on northeast from the Miesse farm it tore orchard trees up by the roots. At the Quarry it threw two freight cars of the track. It also blew the side out of John Thiese's barn and destroyed Mr. Wells' automobile house.

Odle and Blurrton have moved their restaurant, the Star Café, into the new quarters in the Schoneman building. The room has been fixed up in fine shape, and the place is a credit to the town.

Our Florence friends are in a fair way to have a long cherished desire fulfilled in the erection of a bridge over the Cottonwood river about a mile east of their town. The contract was let by the County Commissioners last week for the construction of the bride to the Topeka Bridge and Iron Co. for $3550 for the concrete flooring and $2890, if floored with oak plank.
