Framework of additional offices at St. Luke Medical Clinic should go up this week. The office project, as well as extensive interior remodeling of the clinic, is the work of general contractor Jeff Jirak Construction. Additional parking stalls have also been poured giving the site a net gain of six parking spaces, even though those to the west of the clinic were removed to make room for the office. The addition will match the current clinic exterior.

Barry J. Linnens, executive vice president of Cottonwood Valley Bank, Cedar Point, has announced the intended acquisition of Armstrong Bancshares, which includes Florence State Bank and its branch in Burns. The transaction is to be completed during the first quarter of 1996 and is contingent on final regulatory approval.

Marion High School student Kelly Hett was recognized as an honor student during Business Career Day at Emporia State University. She was accompanied to the event by MHS business teacher Helen Reznicek.

Children, with a little help from parents, attended the annual turkey toss Saturday. Paper plates marked with discounts or prizes from various stores were tossed, with participants happily scrambling for a plate to see what they won. A record 355 plates were tossed, including $200 in chamber of commerce gift certificates, which can be redeemed at chamber member businesses.

DuWayne and Jodi Suffield, owners of Suffield Heating and Cooling, Marion, have been selected to receive the 1995 superior achievement award of York Heating and Cooling. The award, based on sales and service, included presentation of a watch with diamonds for each year of winning the award. This is the third year the Suffields have been selected.
