Central National Bank has extended a public invitation this week to an open house at the bank's recently expanded facilities in Marion. The Central has doubled the size of the former banking building and extensively remodeled the facility.

The Marion Community Thanksgiving Day meal was a success, with almost 250 served. Sponsored by the Ministerial Alliance, the feast brings together community members of all ages who want a relaxed Thanksgiving meal with family and friends. Volunteers prepared, served and cleaned up. Marion Elementary School was the location.

Marion High School 1995-1996 varsity/junior varsity basketball team members are Chad Buchholz, Jesse Versch, Zach Bauman, Jarod Hett, Cy Prior, Josh Whitwell, Shaun Craft, Nic Toupin, James Grady, Chris Bowers, Noah King, Austin Gilbert, Jason Goodin, Jesse Bowers, Chuck Maggard, Jason Wheeler, Bill Griffith, Chris Darrow, Hass Brown, and Brian Wunderlick.

Bud Vinduska has spent almost 22 years as an employee of Marion County. He will retire Dec. 20 as custodian of the courthouse.

After many years, Marion Community Arts Council is reviving. Once an active part of the community, the arts council fell to the wayside in the 1980s. New officers who will try to revive the council are: Sheri Schmidt, president; Catherine Blount, vice president; Garrett Varenhorst, secretary; Bernadine Westerhaus, treasurer; Carole Sklenar, historian,; and board members Nicole Taylor, Pam Varenhorst, Catie Varenhorst, Belinda Engler, Harry Bennett, and Dr. Jeff Henry.
