Marion County Implement has formed a farmer/dealer advisory council. This council is comprised of four area area/ranchers/consumers, two area business representatives, five employees representing each department of the dealership, and Dick Luthi. Members include Vernon Vogel, Gordon Groening, Mike Regnier, and Peggy Blackman of Marion, Bruce Hall of El Dorado, and Vernon Klingenberg of Peabody. Implement representatives are Luthi, Dale Wealand, Troy Leith, Jim Svanda, Rick Hauschel, and Marla Meyer.

Denise Klenda of Lincolnville was a member of the Kansas State University crops judging team which placed first Nov. 22 at the Kansas City Board of Trade contest.

A living outdoor nativity scene with people and live animals will be presented for public viewing from 6:30 to 7 p.m. Dec. 13.

Florence Middle School teacher and coach Steve Janzen has been nominated for a regional coaching award. Janzen, who already received Kansas Coach of the Year honors from the National Federation Interscholastic Coaches Association, is nominated to represent a six- state area.

Stacia Williams, daughter of Roger and Laura Williams of Florence, and Bryce Nelson, son of Dwight and Julie Nelson of Florence, were awarded bicycles as prizes in the Family Night Drawing held recently by Mike and Jackie Denis of Town & Country Café in Florence.

Births announced this week include Justin Michael, son of Gayla and Jeff Deines of Ramona and Whitney Dawn, daughter of Tim and Michon Christensen of Marion.
