David Tubbs, special agent in charge of the Kansas City, Mo., FBI office, said agents are pursuing all leads generated by the hundreds of calls received relating to a red two-wheel trailer and plastic barrels believed used by people responsible for the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City.

New officers were elected at the June 18 meeting of the Midwestern Polka Club of Kansas. Included on the slate was Ralph Richmond of Marion, who was elected president of the group.

Former Marion and Florence residents, Ruth and Earl Pankratz of Newton will celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary July 2 with an open house at the Marion County Lake recreation hall.

Michel Soyez, a criminal justice student at Garden City Community College recently earned second place in competition against Seward County Community College. He earned first place in the crime scene and team firearms categories and took second in individual firearms. He is the son of Bob and Brenda Soyez of Marion.

Twelve area residents visited the Binney & Smith Crayola factory in Winfield, followed by the Chaplin Nature Center in Arkansas City. The trip was sponsored by Marion-Florence REC. Gerald Wiens, a native of Marion, hosted the nature center tour. Participants were Margo and Michael Yates, JoAnna McGinness, Scott Nuss, Ann and Andy Holt, Shayla Steele, Lavonne and Jill Hannaford, Margaret and Ashlee Pickering and Belinda Skiles.

Jared Herzet, Russell Mueller and Kay Lynn Summervill have been awarded college scholarships by the Marion County Farm Bureau Association.
