Bryant and Bryant crews have been busy tearing out old curbing and installing new cub and gutter on Roosevelt and Freeborn streets, part of the City of Marion 60-block street improvement project. A machine installs the concrete in pre-formed fashion, at a speed which impresses those who previously have watched curbing installed manually.

At least 13 teams had signed up this week for the upcoming Relay For Life to be held the night of Aug. 11 on the Tabor College track at Hillsboro.

Sue Ehrlich of Marion has entered her home grown tomatoes in the Produce Derby. Each of the luscious red tomatoes weigh more than one pound. Sue set them out in her garden the middle of June.

Kadon Hodson of Marion has been selected to participate in Kansas State University engineering honors program. Students focus on research courses in their junior and senior years, working on their own with guidance from faculty members.

A "come and go" miscellaneous bridal shower was held in the fellowship hall of Marion Christian Church July 20 complimenting bride-elect Tammy Cook, who will be married July 29 to Bill Bradford.

Defensive end/tight end Brendan Kraus is one of only 68 all-star 1995 high school graduate invited to participate in the 22nd annual Kansas Shrine Bowl Saturday at Wagner Field, Kansas State University, Manhattan
