More than 200 booths are expected to be set up in Central Park Saturday for the 17th annual Art in the Park sponsored by Marion Chamber of Commerce.

Kansas Attorney General Carla Stovall, a native of Marion, has been selected by the National Association of Attorneys General to be part of a delegation of attorneys general on a trip to the Middle East.

Media Professional Insurance, a Kansas City based underwriting and claims manager for specialty insurance programs, has hired Alice Ergovich, CPCU, as an underwriting account manager. Ergovich is the daughter of Bill and Frances Hockensmith of Cedar Point.

The "Last Member Club" of the 1927 graduating class of Marion High School met Saturday at the Stone City Café for a 68th year reunion. Those attending were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Pracht, Cedar Point; Della Pracht Jacques, Emporia; Edna Remple Macklen, Topeka; Esther Remple McGhay, Ottawa; and Katherine Mohn Vogel, Evelyn Nelson Conyers and Margaret Richardson Wolf of Marion.

Elora Robinson took medalist honors Saturday at the Newton Municipal Women's Golf Tournament. Other members of Marion Country Club who participated in the tournament were Sadie Bernhardt, Lois Smith, and Joyce Smith.

Funeral services were held Monday morning at Valley United Methodist Church for John Ira Newcomer. "Newt" as he was known be a wide circle of friends and business associates, served four terms as mayor of Marion as well as serving well in many other capacities in Marion.
