Raymond Oursler of Marion escorted several youngsters back to the hangar after they enjoyed a plane ride Saturday at Marion Airport. In all, seven children won a seat in Dean Fincham's Cessna 180. The rides were awarded through a contest sponsored by Emmanuel Baptist Church. The winners were Michelle and Bobby Ellis, David and Amy Voth, Jason and Jeremy May and Kristy Herbel.

Albert Klenda is pictured signing an agreement with Howard Mcgordon, regional vice president for Lutheran Hospitals and Homes Society, for a 10 year lease at St. Luke Hospital. Klenda, chairman of Marion County Hospital District No. 1, said he is glad to have the society continue to maintain its administrative expertise with the facility after 15 years satisfactory service.

Edwin Winter, Durham, will run unopposed as Marion County's delegate to the Kansas Silver Haired Legislature this October in Topeka.

Jeffrey Longhofer has accepted a position on the faculty of the University of Missouri in Kansas City. Longhofer teaches anthropology in the Department of Sociology. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. E. D. Longhofer, Marion.

The Antelope post office will close its doors Friday evening, never to open again. Postmaster Alvin Nienstedt will close out 39 years of personal service in the office that has served the public for 113 years.

A group of area joggers participated in the fifth annual KFDI Wichita 15-kilometer and two-mile run held Sunday. Stephan Bryant placed seventh in the two-mile race. Others competing from the area were Ray and Denice Bina, Ann Carr, Jim and Kay Darrow, Darin Helmer, Julie Kerbs, and Steve and Debi May. All competed in the two-mile run.
