Lynn and Wilma Christensen have filed a letter of intent with the city commission in regard to construction of a new building for Lynn's Farm Equipment Company on West Main.

Dr. Robert L. Novak of Lost Springs was elected trustee-at-large of the Kansas Veterinary Medical Association Jan. 14 at the 76th annual business meeting of the association in Topeka. Mrs. Novak was elected president-elect of the Auxiliary to the Kansas Veterinary Medical Association.

A $4,400 neo-natal intensive care unit at St. Luke Hospital is making the first few minutes of life warmer and safer for babies born in the hospital's expanded delivery room and nursery.

Incumbent mayor Peggy Blackman and local plasterer Larry Loomis have filed for the position of mayor. Loomis, a plaster contractor, is not to be confused with Finance Commissioner Larry Loomis, who is an officer in Marion National Bank.

Idaho governor John V. Evans has announced the appointment of Pat Costello 30-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Costello of Marion, as chief counsel on energy. A Boise resident, Costello will work closely with the governor, who is chairman of the energy committee of the National Governor's council.

Jackie Richmond was crowned 1980 Queen of Courts, before the homecoming games on Friday. Her escort was Warriors senior forward, Doug Webb. Attendants and their escorts were Janice Wiens and Kevin McGahee and Lori Hett and Brian Allen. Little helpers were Mikki Keazer, Brian Loomis, Ramie Bina and Michel Soyez.

Florence Middle School sixth grade students recently enjoyed a Mexican fiesta, complete with the breaking of a pink flamingo pinata. The lunch menu featured chips and hot sauce, a chicken enchilada, refried beans, Spanish rice, and Mexican corn bread. Winners of the Mexican costume contest were Michael Bina and Tonya Johnson, first place, and Isabel Christina Medina and Roger Hudlin, second place.
