Senator Jerry Karr of Emporia and Representative Duane Goossen of Goessel conferred with constituents from their legislative districts at the Dine Inn Café Saturday morning. The legislative coffee was sponsored by the Marion Chamber of Commerce.

Members of the Tabor College campaign for a new historic library celebrated with a final tally Monday morning in the Administration Building on campus. Al Grunau, campaign director, marked the final contribution which put the fund over the $3.125 million mark. The college now become eligible for another $100,000 in funding through the Mabee Foundation of Tulsa, Okla.

Nine Cub Scouts were advanced from Bobcats to the level of Wolf at the Blue and Gold Banquet held Monday night at Eastmoor United Methodist Church. They included Matt Gulz, Josh Martin, Dwayne Stika, Shane Klein, Chris Bradley, Shad Winter, Jarod Sardou, Jason Summerville, and John Wheeler. Reyes Martinez was awarded his Webelos badge.

Three Marion High School girls were pages for Sen. Jerry Kahn last week in the Kansas Legislature. They are Brenda O'Dell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Delvin O'Dell, Suzanne Steward, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roger Steward, and Lisa Richmond, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Delton Richmond.

The Sunflower Senior Citizens of Tampa took a bus trip to Wichita Thursday and enjoyed a guided tour of the Beech Aircraft Corporation. Those who attended were Tillie Hein, Zona Keefer, Irene Novak, Maxine Mueller, Alice Frick, Margaret Jirak, Agnes Bina Ruby Vinduska, Pearl Belton, Agnes Konarik, Vlasta Srajer, Gertrude Patton and the driver, E.P. Klassen.
