One of the hottest items to be sold at the Senior Center benefit auction Saturday afternoon will be the autographed baseball donated by George Brett. He inscribed the ball especially for the Marion Builders, to be offered at the auction.

Senator Nancy Kassebaum will be the principal speaker at the fall meeting of Kansas Fourth District Federation of Republican Women, according to Dolly Novak of Lost Springs, who is the district director.

Nominated as candidates for 1980 Marion High School homecoming queen are seniors, Gena Helmer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Will Helmer, Lanell Tajchman, daughter of Angela Tajchman, and Tammy Sandwell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Sandwell. Their escorts will be Greg Boyle, Aaron Hett, and Kevin Jirak.

George Jackson, proprietor of Jackson's Clothing Store, was installed as president of Marion Kiwanis Club Monday noon. Larry Reiswig will continue as the club's first vice president. Ed Wheeler is second vice president. D.W. Wheeler, Les Griffith, Steve Widler and Roger Morse were named to two-year terms on the board. Bob Brookens, Marlin Buchholz and Jim Fruechting were named to one-year terms.

Polly Ferrell of Marion announces the engagement of her daughter, Molly, to Marc Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Smith, also of Marion. The couple will be married Dec. 20.

Marion Community Arts Council will sponsor Janet and Vernon Yenne in concert Oct. 30 at Eastmoor United Methodist Church. A light buffet will be served following the concert.
