Case and Son insurance company has sold insurance policies in Marion for Commercial Union Assurance Co. of Boston for the past 100 years. Alex H. Case, Rosse Case, and Alex Case Jr. were honored with the presentation of an American colonial-style chair at a banquet held recently by Colonial Union representatives in Wichita.

Dean Jost, who has been an investigator for the Butler County Sheriff's Department, has accepted a position as arson investigator with the State of Kansas at Topeka. Dean is the son of Sheriff and Mrs. June Jost.

Mrs. Jack Vogt and her daughter Christina are the authors of "Searching for Home," a novel which tells the story of a handful of hardy children who traveled by train from New York City to the Midwest at the turn of the century.

Marion High School Class of 1954 held a 25-year reunion on Old Settlers' Day. Class members attending were Karen Powell, Marilyn Murray, Nancy McGarrigle, Joan Bowers, Peggy Schamerhorn, Nancy Bowen, Jim Smith, Carol Moulton, Lois Perkins, Madora Fruechting, LaDonna Ewert, Pat Socolofsky, Ronald Post, Bob Ehrlich, Harold Shields, Warren Hett, Byron Ewert, Pearl Helmer, Carol McGranor, Max Hayen, and Roger Pankratz. Special guests were former teachers, Pauline Edmunds and Floyd Yaussi.

Jayson Hanschu, son of Mr. and Mrs. Junior Hanschu won first place in the 13-year-old division of the district Punt, Pass and Kick competition Saturday at Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City. He received a trophy and a Kansas City Chiefs uniform.
