The new St. Luke Medical Clinic will be open for public inspection Sunday afternoon from 1 to 4 p.m. The building has room for four physicians. Dr. Jeff Martin, a family practice specialist, and Dr. David Jensen, a dentist, have already established their practices there. The clinic was constructed mainly from funds donated by private contribution.

Marion County commissioners signed a $7,825 agreement Monday with a Salina firm to clean and paint the courthouse in Marion. Under terms of the agreement, the contractors will paint the courtroom, the basement floor and three hallways. The bid also covers washing, caulking and painting 155 windows in the courthouse.

Janice (Mrs. Rosse) Case, longtime executive secretary of the Marion Chamber of Commerce has submitted her resignation. The announcement was made Friday at the regular monthly meeting of the organization.

Neo-Century Club members met at the Flint Hills Clayworks Oct. 5 and were treated to a demonstration on the potter's wheel by Celia Byer.

Four girls from Marion were among the 60 Junior Girl Scouts who spent a recent weekend at Camp Wood near Elmdale. Eugene Enos of Marion was one of the camp directors. Girls from Marion who enjoyed activities including canoeing, hikes, horseback rides and games included Kristi Enos, Alison Ogden, Carol Laue and Tonja Kay Jensen.

Candidates for this year's Marion High School Homecoming Queen are Margi Dyck, Mickey Costello and Jami Shirley. The 1981-82 queen will be crowned at halftime during the Marion-Herington game.

Mrs. Gary Loveless, Mrs. Henry Loveless and Naomi Behrendt visited Irwin General Hospital in Fort Riley Friday. The women delivered 130 dozen cookies and served them and punch to patients in the hospital. They are representatives of Ecker-Fulkerson-Slifer VFW Auxiliary 6958.

Members of the freshman class in vocational agriculture at Marion High School spent a day participating in a statewide land evaluation school near Salina last week. Those attending included Don Hett, Jay Sandwell, Gary Raleigh, Bret Dannenfelser. Eddy Hett, Danny Depler, Jerry Stika, Cindy Ellis, William Snelling, Harold Dornbush and Jenny McGuire. Hett and Sandwell were top scorers from MHS.
