Quick Draw world champion Larry Lalouette will entertain farmers and stockmen at the annual Marion Chamber of Commerce stead feed Monday. The Marion High School Swing Singers and Lalouette will present a program following the meal at Marion Municipal Auditorium.

Monday was Ron Wineinger Day in Marion, by order of an official proclamation by Mayor Peggy Blackman. It was in recognition of his having won first place in extemporaneous public speaking at the Future Farmers of America national convention in Kansas City last week.

Groundbreaking ceremonies will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, the first step in construction of the new medical office building which will adjoin St. Luke Hospital.

Seven out of the nine Marion High School students who auditioned for the district choir were selected during tryouts at Wichita's North High School Nov. 1. Those selected were Gena Helmer, Jan Nuss, Lisa Richmond, Cindy Heerey, Greg Boyle, Paul Loney and Brad Seifert.

Trent Crissup of Cedar Point will be one of the featured performers when the Opry show "Ozark Jamboree' is presented at Burlington Saturday. Trent, son of Mrs. Carl Evans of Cedar Point, sings, fiddles, plays bass guitar and has the lead in many of the pieces that will be presented during the program.

Kenneth Vinduska, general manager of Roundup Enterprises at Hillsboro since 1978, has been named vice president of operations. The industry builds steel and fiberglass tanks, gun barrels and saltwater tanks.
