Ronald Reagan, Bob Dole, Dan Glickman, Jerry Karr, Doug Westerhaus, June Jost, Earl Mueller and Charles DeForest are the winners in Tuesday's general election.

Dr. Carol Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Bowers of Marion, has been certified as a diplomat of the American Academy of Family Physicians as the result of passing an examination. A graduate of Marion High School and the University of Kansas Medical School, she is practicing in Wichita.

Thurston Thies, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Thies, celebrated his sixth birthday Saturday by entertaining some friends at a party. Those attending were Tyler Cork, Kristen Groening, Kristi Kraus, Ashley Loomis, Leslie Sieger, Charlie Helmer, Jason May, Jimmy McLain, Tim Summervill, Lori Tice and Thurston's sisters, Charlotte and Natalie.

Beverly Bezdek, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Valerian Bezdek of Florence, was a member of the Queen's Court during homecoming festivities at Kansas Wesleyan in Salina.

Carol and Christine Laue hosted a party at their home Saturday evening and invited a number of friends to join them in celebrating Halloween. Guests were Jennifer McLain, Dodie Cork and her cousin Jill Cork from Iowa, Stephanie Summerville, Tiffany Johnson, Robin Summervill, Denise Meierhoff, Lucy and Lily Guerra and Terri and Traci Helmer.

The following were winners last week of door prizes at the grand opening of Schoneman Shoe Store under new owners, Peggy and Leo Blackman: Bev Cooper, western boots; Delores Spencer, ladies dress shoes; Angie Walz, canvas shoes; Ron Cork, children's shoes; and Debbie Grady, pair of casual shoes.
