Icy road conditions Monday accounted for over 15 non-injury accidents with little or no vehicle damage. Most of the mishaps involved little or no property damage. The most hazardous spot in the area seemed to be U.S.-50, two miles west of Peabody where two trailers overturned early Monday morning. Two more trailers stalled on a hill along the same strip.

A 36x30-foot structure, formerly known as the old Punkin' School, was hoisted atop a trailer Thursday and moved from the Dan Riffel farm two miles southwest of Ramona to a site along the town's Main Street. Riffel and his wife, Wanda, donated the building last August to Ramona Senior Citizens, Inc., the town's organization for the elderly.
