Lynn's Farm Equipment, Inc., Marion, is hosting its 16th annual pancake and sausage breakfast Thursday, March 19. The event will occur at the Agri-business' new facility at the west edge of town on U.S.-56.

Kansas State University junior Marc Smith is the 1981 recipient of the Max Straube Achievement Award given to the outstanding junior majoring in feed science and management at KSU. Smith is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Smith of Marion.

Florence voters have selected Vance Hight and George Grimmett Jr. as the two finalists in the race for city mayor. The two will now pair off for the April 7 general election.

Cindy Heerey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Heerey of Marion, has been selected to attend the Hugh O'Brian Youth Foundation leadership seminar in April, representing Marion High School. Unfortunately Cindy will not be able to attend as she will be at the Kansas Music Festival that weekend.

Three new directors were elected to the Marion Country Club board Thursday night at the annual meeting of stockholders. Ed Costello, Mrs. John (Marian) Crofoot, and Don Heinemann were elected to replace directors Elora Robinson, Bill Drummond and Larry Reiswig who are going off the board.

Lyle Leppke of Peabody, a member of the wool judging team at Kansas State University helped win the 1981 National Western Wool Judging contest for his school recently in Denver.

Mark Jirak, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Jirak of rural Tampa, has been selected by the moderator and advisers of the regional Catholic Youth Organization to received the coveted "Eagle and Cross" award.
