Kevin Marler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Doug Marler, celebrated his fifth birthday with a series of parties. The celebration began on Friday when several little folks were invited to his home. Those present were Todd Winter, John Hart, Aaron Helmer, and Gary and Karen Klose. Two family parties were held at his home on Sunday.

Paul Loney, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Loney of Marion, has been notified that he has been designated a

"State of Kansas Scholar" by the Board of Regents of Kansas. Loney, who is a senior at Marion High School, intends to enroll at the University of Kansas.

Mr. and Mrs. Mike Mueller of Tampa attended the Kansas Farm Bureau president's trip to Washington, D.C., this past

weekend.

Five students at Marion High School have been listed in the 1981 edition of "Who's Who in Music." All are members of the choral department, Jeff Brewer Instructor. They are Greg Boyle, Brad Seifert, Gena Helmer, Jan Nuss and Debbie Rittger.

Michael Kline celebrated his eighth birthday Saturday when his mother, Karen Kline, provided a party for him and his friends. Those invited were Stephanie Burkholder, Amy Raleigh, Ann McLinden, Chrissy Barnett, Anne Goering, Margo Fredrickson, Melanie Kraus, Julie Shipman, Nancy Edmunds, Amy Crawford, Kent Mitchell, Tim Makovec, Eric Kannady, Jason Alexander, Chris Hett, Daniel Burton, David Whitcomb, Dusty Holub, Chris Stinchcomb, Sheldon Bina and Mike Matz.
