Plans for the new senior center to be constructed in Marion are nearly complete. Enthusiasm is high. The project is popular. And there have been many contributions. But, if the senior center is to be constructed, more cash contributions must be made.

Gary Carroll is the latest winner of the Vagabond Vacation provided by the Marion County Record. The Carrolls had registered at Town and Country Café in Florence. They will take their free vacation in September — to the Colorado Rockies.

Marion's Main Street should be lined with produce Saturday as the Farmers Market opens for its first weekend of the summer — that is, the sidewalks will be lined if gardens cooperate.

Framework is rising for the huge new Lynn's Farm Equipment building on the west edge of Marion

Marissa Kay Kukuk of Perry, Okla., became the bride of Gail Lee Makovec of Ramona May 31 at St. Rosa of Lima Catholic Church, Perry.

A pottery shower was held June 12 at the home of Mrs. Arnold Regier honoring Joanne Popp, bride-elect of David Loewen. Hostesses were Mrs. Regier and Mrs. Eugene Christensen, assisted by Ann Christensen and Beth and Carol Regier.

Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Costello of Boise, Idaho, are the proud parents of a son, Quinn Patrick, born May 26 at the Boise hospital.

Douglas A. Kelsey, son of Mrs. Donald Kelsey of Marion, has been named a fellow of the National Academy of Opticianry, a professional organization of opticians with headquarters in Washington. Kelsey is an optician in Salina.
