Anyone wanting to enjoy a picnic at Hillsboro Cove on Marion Lake during the past week would have to come equipped with scuba gear. This and other picnic units in the cove were nearly covered with water. In fact many tables were submerged, with only the tops of the shelters above lake level. Water stood at 1355.4 feet elevation, still three feet below the flood stage of 1358.5.

Another Spring-O-Matic livestock treatment table left Marion Wednesday for an overseas destination. It is going to Great Britain. Siebert's handy table is now being used in France, Haiti, New Zealand, Hawaii, and all across the continental states.

Bob Olsen, who is living in Oxnard, Calif., notified his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Olsen, that he was uninjured in the earthquake that shook that part of the state several weeks ago.

Thieves came in March 3 or 4 to help themselves to the coin operated vending machines. They had visited Ron's' laundry two week earlier for the same purpose and on the same night as the second visit to Ron's, thieves called at the Herington laundry for the same purpose.

Holiday House walked off with team handicap honors in the recently completed Marion City Women's Bowling tournament. P. Stark and W. Christensen were the doubles winners and Vernolis Siebert swept the field in singles. Shirley Smith took the handicap and scratch honors in all events.
